1. Getting started

  1. Create your account. Continue with your email address, Google, or Facebook. If you use email, complete email verification and create a secure password.
  2. Create your first project. Add its name, project type, budget, currency, area, and start date. You can edit these details later.
  3. Set up categories and tags. Use categories for major spending groups and tags for flexible labels that make expenses easier to find.
  4. Record expenses. Choose a project, enter the amount and date, then add a category, tags, and useful notes.

2. Projects and budgets

Build Spend supports residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Each project can include a budget, currency, area, start date, description, and a Planning, Active, or Completed status.

  • Use search and filters to find projects by status, type, date, name, or budget.
  • Choose the correct currency when creating a project. Expenses added to that project use the project’s currency.
  • Edit a project when its scope, budget, status, or schedule changes.
  • Review the dashboard and reports to understand budget progress and spending patterns.

3. Recording and finding expenses

An expense includes a title, amount, date, and project. You can also add a category, multiple tags, and notes such as supplier details or payment information.

  • Choose clear titles such as “Cement purchase” or “Electrical labour.”
  • Use one consistent category structure across similar projects.
  • Add tags for details that cross categories, such as a floor, contractor, phase, or purchase type.
  • Use date, project, category, and tag filters to narrow long expense lists.

4. Account, profile, and sign-in

Your profile contains your display name, email address, optional photo, sign-in method, verification status, and membership date. You can update your name and photo from the Profile screen.

If you forgot your password

Choose “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen, enter the email connected to your account, and follow the verification steps. Check your spam or junk folder if the message does not arrive.

Deleting your account

Use the secure account deletion page, enter the email connected to your Build Spend account, and complete the email verification steps. If you cannot access that email address, contact apps.arvin@gmail.com.

5. Troubleshooting

The app is not loading or syncing

  • Confirm that your device has a stable internet connection.
  • Close and reopen Build Spend, then try again.
  • Install the latest available version of the app and your device operating system.
  • Sign out and sign back in only after confirming you know your credentials.

Notifications are not arriving

Check that notifications are enabled for Build Spend in your device settings. Battery-saving or background-data restrictions may also delay notifications.

Google or Facebook sign-in is not working

Confirm that you can sign in to the selected provider, update its app if installed, and try again on a stable connection. You can also use email sign-in if your Build Spend account supports it.

A total or report looks incorrect

Check the selected project, date range, currency, expense amounts, and active filters. Reports depend on the project and expense details entered in the app.

6. Common questions

Can projects use different currencies?

Yes. Each project has its own currency, while your currency preference provides the default for new projects. Expenses are recorded in the selected project’s currency.

What is the difference between categories and tags?

A category is the main classification for an expense. Tags are additional flexible labels, and an expense can have more than one tag.

Can I change the app appearance?

Yes. Open More, choose Appearance, and select System Default, Light, or Dark.

Does Build Spend provide accounting or construction advice?

No. Build Spend helps organize records and calculate views from the information you enter. Important financial, tax, engineering, or construction decisions should be checked independently with a qualified professional.

Is my personal information sold?

No. Arvin Apps does not sell your personal information. Read the Privacy Policy for details about Firebase and authentication providers used to operate the app.
