Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Build Spend mobile application, this website, and related support communications. Build Spend is a construction project and expense-management application intended for people aged 18 or older. The app may be offered in countries and regions supported by applicable app stores, subject to local availability.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account and profile information: email address, display name, authentication credentials handled by Firebase Authentication, sign-in provider identifiers, and an optional profile photo.
• Project information: project names, descriptions, types, budgets, currencies, area sizes, start dates, status, categories, and tags.
• Expense information: titles, amounts, dates, categories, tags, descriptions, and any supplier, payment, or other notes you choose to enter.
• Communications: information included when you contact us for support, privacy questions, or account deletion.

Build Spend does not currently process payments or intentionally collect payment-card or bank-account credentials. Please avoid entering sensitive financial credentials or other unnecessary sensitive personal information in free-text fields.

Information collected automatically

When you use Build Spend, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical and usage information. Depending on the service being used, this information may include:

• Device and app information: device type, device model, operating system, operating-system version, language, time zone, app version, package or bundle identifier, and other technical configuration information.
• Network information: IP address, mobile carrier or network provider, connection type, and related network information.
• Device and advertising identifiers: advertising identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID or comparable device identifiers where available and permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
• App activity: app interactions, session information, feature usage, advertising impressions, advertising clicks, and other interactions with ads.
• Diagnostics: crash information, performance information, error reports, technical diagnostics, and information used to troubleshoot and improve the application.
• Notification information: notification tokens and related delivery information when you enable notifications.

Build Spend does not request precise device location solely for advertising. Advertising providers may, however, derive an approximate location such as country or region from an IP address or other network information where permitted by law.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• create, authenticate, and secure your account and support email, Google, and Facebook sign-in;
• store, synchronize, display, and manage your construction projects, expenses, categories, tags, preferences, and other app content;
• provide notifications and other features you choose to enable;
• operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Build Spend;
• analyze application usage and performance;
• display advertisements and measure advertising performance;
• where permitted and where required consent has been obtained, support personalized advertising;
• prevent advertising fraud, invalid traffic, abuse, and other security threats;
• respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests; and
• comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, processing may be based on the performance of a service you request, your consent, our legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention and service improvement, or compliance with applicable law.

4. Advertising

Build Spend displays third-party advertisements to help support the development and operation of the application.

We use Appodeal as an advertising mediation platform. Appodeal may work with multiple advertising demand partners to select and deliver advertisements. Build Spend also integrates Meta Audience Network as an advertising provider through our advertising setup.

Appodeal, Meta, and other advertising partners made available through the mediation platform may process information such as:

• IP address;
• Advertising ID and similar device identifiers;
• device model, operating system, language, and device configuration;
• network provider and connection information;
• app identifier and app-version information;
• advertising impressions, clicks, and other ad interactions;
• session and advertising-performance information;
• diagnostic and fraud-prevention information; and
• approximate location inferred from information such as IP address, where permitted.

This information may be used to provide advertisements, measure advertising effectiveness, perform analytics, limit repeated ads, detect fraud and invalid traffic, and, where allowed by applicable law and your consent choices, personalize advertising.

Advertising providers process information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

5. Advertising consent and privacy choices

In countries or regions where applicable law requires consent for advertising-related data processing, Build Spend may display a consent-management notice or consent dialog before applicable advertising technologies are used.

The consent-management process may allow you to accept, reject, or manage certain advertising and data-processing purposes. Your choices may affect whether advertisements are personalized or non-personalized and which advertising technologies may be used.

Where required by applicable law, we and our advertising partners will use advertising-related data in accordance with the consent choices communicated through the consent-management process.

You may also be able to limit or reset advertising identifiers, restrict personalized advertising, or manage related privacy controls through your device or operating-system settings. Available controls vary by platform, device, operating-system version, and region.

Withdrawing or refusing consent where consent is required does not prevent you from using the core expense-management functionality of Build Spend. However, you may still receive advertisements that are contextual or otherwise permitted without personalized advertising.

6. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information for monetary payment. Information may be disclosed to service providers and advertising partners when necessary to operate Build Spend, provide advertisements, measure performance, protect the service, or comply with applicable law.

• Google Firebase: Firebase services may process information to provide authentication, data storage and synchronization, analytics, crash reporting, messaging, application security, and related infrastructure used by Build Spend.
• Appodeal: Appodeal provides advertising mediation and may process device, network, advertising identifier, advertising-interaction, diagnostic, and related technical information to serve, optimize, measure, and protect advertising.
• Meta Audience Network: Meta may process device, advertising, network, and interaction information in connection with advertisements provided through Meta Audience Network.
• Sign-in providers: if you choose Google or Facebook sign-in, the selected provider processes authentication information under its own terms and privacy policy.
• Other advertising demand partners: Appodeal mediation may make advertising inventory available to advertising networks, exchanges, buyers, and other demand partners. These providers may process advertising-related information according to their own privacy policies and applicable law.
• Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect users, rights, safety, and service security.
• Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

7. International data processing

Build Spend is operated from Sri Lanka and may be available internationally. Firebase, Appodeal, Meta, advertising partners, authentication providers, and their service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your country. Where required by applicable law, the relevant organizations are responsible for using appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain your Build Spend account and app content while your account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service.

When you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information under our control unless limited information must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or enforcement purposes. Backup copies and provider logs may remain for a limited period before being removed through routine systems.

Advertising and analytics providers may retain information they process independently according to their own privacy policies, legal obligations, and retention schedules.

To request deletion of your Build Spend account and associated data, use the secure account deletion page. You will need to verify the email address connected to your account before submitting the request.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including Firebase security controls and authenticated access. No system, transmission method, or electronic storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to certain processing, or receive a copy of your information, and to withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

You can update certain profile, project, expense, category, tag, and preference information through Build Spend. You can manage notification permissions and certain advertising/privacy controls through your device settings.

Where an advertising consent-management interface is available, you may use it to manage applicable advertising consent choices.

Depending on your jurisdiction, certain disclosures to advertising partners may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or similar activity under applicable privacy law. Where required, we provide applicable consent or opt-out mechanisms.

You may contact us using the information below to exercise an applicable privacy right. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

11. Age restriction

Build Spend is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to create accounts or intentionally collect personal information from them.

If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information through Build Spend, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Build Spend, our service providers, advertising technologies, or applicable legal requirements change.

When we update this policy, we will publish the revised version at this location and update the effective date. Where a change is material or applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide appropriate notice through the app or another suitable method.
